Independent Jewish Voices is a network of Jews in Britain from diverse backgrounds, occupations and affiliations who have in common a strong commitment to social justice and universal human rights.

A Time to Speak Out is a collection of essays from 27 of its members that explore some of the most challenging issues facing diaspora Jews, notably in relation to the ongoing conflict in Israel-Palestine. Ranging in tone and content from historical narrative, political analysis and polemical rage to quiet meditation, reminiscence and remonstration, the book presents modern Jewish voices from a multiplicity of perspectives which seek to inspire like-minded and independent-minded readers to find their own voices.
